‘The initial explosion of coloured flat titanium in the 1970s did little for me, being much more interested in 3D form than decoration.  After meeting Bill Seeley at SNAG ‘83 in Monterey I began to explore forging CP titanium hot and discovered the amazing fire-oxidised grey colour.  Over that last year of making jewellery I produced a series of pieces as satisfying as anything that I had made previously. Returning to making twenty years later I again enjoy the nature of this material, of which laser welding allows me to make rings that combine and contrast it with pure gold.'
